Education

September 2009-June 2014: Ph.D. (Plant Virology), Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China. My supervisors are Professor Xueping Zhou and Professor Zhenghe Li.

September 2005-June 2009: B.S. (Plant Protection), Nanjing Agricultural University, Nanjing, China (I was in the top 3% of all college students, and was recommended for a PhD fellowship without an exam). My mentor is Professor Fei Li.

August 2018- Current: Research Scientist Position (Plant-Virus Interaction Group), Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, China.  

May 2015- August 2018: Post doctoral Position (Plant Virology, Aiming Wang’s lab), Agriculture and Agri-Food, London, ON, Canada.

June 2014- May 2015: Post doctoral Position (Crop Genetics, Longjiang Fan’s lab), Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China.

 

Areas of Specialization

(1) Dissection of RNA silencing pathway, RNA decay pathway, autophagy pathway, nuclear protein shuttle pathway, DNA methylation pathway, nicotine biosynthesis pathway, and many anti-viral pathways.

(2) Interaction between proteins and DNA/RNA/proteins.

(3) Dissection of replication and infection of Geminiviruses and Potyviruses.

(4) VIGS analyses in tobacco, tomato, soybean and cotton plants.

(5) Replication of Geminiviruses in yeast and in plants.
