New Plant Protection

New Plant Protection (NPP) is a quarterly, open-access, peer-reviewed journal, co-founded by the China Society of Plant Protection (CSPP) and the Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences (IPPCAAS). The journal is dedicated to promoting a comprehensive understanding of plant health by publishing cutting-edge discoveries, including, but not limited to, identification, monitoring, warnings, mechanism exploration, and control of plant pests. NPP aims to be a global forum for discussing all aspects of plant protection sciences and to build an international innovative exchange platform for scientific research, application, transformation, policies and regulations.

NPP includes, but is not limited to, the following topics:

(1) Identification and characterization of invasive and emerging plant pests, including pathogenic microorganisms, harmful insects to plants, weeds, mice, and parasitic plants;

(2) Biology of plant pests and the underlying mechanisms that they cause damages to plants;

(3) Mechanisms of the adaptation and resistance of plants to the stresses caused by these pests;

(4) Discovery, synthesis and scientific application of chemical pesticides and biological pesticides, the application of natural enemies and other strategies to control plant pests;

(5) Risk evaluation of pesticides, invasive plants and insects, genetically modified crops, novel biotechnologies applied in plant protection fields.

Article types include editorial, original paper, commentary, comprehensive review, brief report, and letter to the editor.
