Dr. Trevor Nicholls, CEO of CABI visited IPP on 23 October, 2015, together with Dr. Zhang Qiaoqiao, Membership Director of CABI, and Dr. LokeWai Hong, Regional Director of CABI Southeast Asia. Dr. QiuDewen, Deputy Director of IPP, met with them. The two parties exchanged their views on further collaboration and the development of MOA-CABI Joint Laboratory for Bio-safety. Dr. Chen Julian, the Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Graduate Student hosted the meeting.

Dr. Qiu extended his warmly welcome to Dr. Nicholls and his colleagues and briefed the main work carried out in MOA-CABI Joint Laboratory for Bio-safety in 2015 and the main achievements obtained since the establishment of the Laboratory. Dr. Nicholls hoped to deepen the exchange and collaboration between CABI and IPP. Both sides hoped to take the opportunity when China had joined CABI for 20 years, to respond to 'the Belt and Road' strategy for development, and to enhance the exchange and collaboration. Both sides discussed issues like application paths for collaboration projects, training courses, talent education, development planning of the Joint Laboratory, etc.,and reached the collaboration consensus.
