A good news came from the 9th Conference of China Achievement of Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Innovation held in Kunming on 12 December, 2015. Innovative R&D and the Deployment and -Extension of Resistance Inducer of Biological Protein for Plant Immunity led by Dr. Qiu Dewen of IPP was awarded with first prize for 2015.

The 9th Conference of China Achievement of Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Innovation was supported bythe National Development and ReformCommission, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Industry and Information, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, etc., and co-hosted by China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association and People's Government of Yunnan Province. The leaders who were present at the Conference and made speeches included Vice Chairman Wan Gang of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, former Vice Chairman Lu Yongxiang of China's Standing Committee of National People's Congress, Secretary Li Jiheng of Yunnan Provincial Party Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and Vice Minister of Agriculture and President of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences Li Jiayang, etc.

The Conference introduced national policy measures and plans in encouraging scientific and technological innovations and promoting industry-university-research institute collaborations in different areas. The Conference called people in industries, universities and research institutes to set up firmly the idea of development, i.e., innovation, harmonization, green, openness and sharing, which was established by the 18th National Congress of the CPC, and to apply deeply the innovation driven development strategy. Total innovation should be taken as the core of scientific and technological innovation to add strong impetus to China's industrial innovation and development and economic transformation. During the sessions of exchange and discussion, the Conference rewarded 369 institutions and people who obtained prizes in innovation, promotion and contribution in industry-university -research institute collaboration in 2015. Among the outcomes of collaboration innovation, Innovative R&D and the Deployment and Extension of Resistance Inducer of Biological Protein for Plant Immunity declared jointly by IPP and Beijing Zhongbao Lunong (Pesticide) Group Co. Ltd. was awarded the first prize due to the researches on the engineering of protein pesticide, the achievement transformation and the extension of the protein pesticide.

The winning of this award embodied the scientific and technological innovations, aiming at the national demands in agricultural industry, implemented at IPP. The achievement is the result of work accomplished at IPP to serve the agriculture.
