The International Atomic Energy Agency’s Deputy Director General and Director of the Department of Technical Cooperation, Dr. YANG Dazhu, visited IPP in the afternoon, 27 July, 2016. Deputy Director General ZHANG Jie met with Dr. YANG and accompanied him during his visit in IPP.

ZHANG Jie greeted Dr. YANG and introduced the general situation of the State Laboratory for Biology of Plant Diseases and Insect Pests (SLBPDIP). He displayed the recent major research progress obtained at IPP and the main achievements besides the administration, the international cooperation and exchange, training, and research platform of SLBPDIP. Dr. YANG showed keen interest in the research work carried out at IPP. He highly appreciated the research achievement obtained at IPP and the operating management of SLBPDIP. After the meeting, Dr. YANG discussed and exchanged with Prof. ZHANG Guifen from IPP’s Department of Biological Invasions on the occurrence and control of Bactrocera minax and B. dorsalis and application of radiation sterility technique in the control of insect pests.

This visit enhanced mutual understanding and expanded the cooperative consensus. Ms. ZHANG Lin from IAEA, Director ZHAI Lin from the Division of International Organization, Department of International Cooperation, CAAS, and Dr. WANG Lixia, the Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Graduate Student, IPP, accompanied Dr. YANG in the visit.
