Abstract  Immune-related receptor-likekinases(RLKs) and receptor-like cytoplasmickinases(RLCKs) enableplantcells to rapidly transduce and amplifyimmunesignals at an early stageofpathogen attack, which is essential forplantsurvival, and theseimmunekinasesmust be tightly controlled to prevent aberrant activation. TheU-boxtypeE3ubiquitinligase SPL11 (OsPUB11) has been shown to trigger the ubiquitination and degradationofthe S-locus RLK SDS2 to attenuate immunity in rice. Recent studies have revealed that OsCIE1 (OsPUB12), a homologofSPL11, ubiquitinates theimmunereceptor kinase OsCERK1 to reduce its kinase activity, but also ubiquitinates its downstream OsRLCK176 for degradation, providing robust immunity inhibition to maintain the stabilityoftheimmunesystem.
