Research Area:

My research interests focus on the evolution, mechanism and management of insect resistance to transgenic Bt plants, especially insect-resistance transgenic rice. My research goal is to better understand the evolution of target pest resistance to Bt crops, underlying mechanisms and how to manage the resistance.

1)   Resistance risk assessment, resistance evolution and its fitness costs of target pests to Bt insecticidal proteins expressed by Bt crops

2)   Genetic, biochemical and molecular mechanisms underlying insect resistance to Bt insecticidal proteins in Bt crops

3)   Insect biology, behavior and ecology related to resistance management and the development of available resistance management strategy of target pest to Bt crops
