Research Area:

Fruit trees viral diseases were less studied compared with viral diseases infecting main crops in China. The research activity of Viral Diseases of Cash Crops Group (VDCCG) focuses on viruses, and viroids the smallest plant viral pathogen infecting fruit trees and other perennial plants. The overall objective is to develop new approaches for the discovery, characterization, detection of these agents, and for the analysis of their diversity. High throughput sequencing technologies combined with other traditional detection methods developed for diagnostic purposes, epidemiological analysis and also for the interaction between plant and viral agents.
