Chinese Journal of Biological Control founded in 1985, bimonthly, sponsored by Institute of Plant Protection, Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and China Society of Plant Protection. It publishes original papers as well as review articles and research reports that cover all aspects of biological control sciences, and also publishes special column papers and invited reviews. It is abstracted and indexed in CABI, Japanese Science and Technology Revitalization Organization of China Literature Database, Chemical Abstracts, Chinese Science Citation Database, Biological Abstracts, et al.

The aims of the Chinese Journal of Biological Control are to report the most recent achievements and advances in biological control sciences and technology, and to promote academic exchanges among biological control researchers in China and abroad. The journal encompasses biological control of insect pests, plant diseases, nematodes, and weeds in agriculture, forest and stored products. Coverage includes biology and ecology of organisms used for biological control, the introduction, release and utilization of parasitic and predatory natural enemies, mechanisms of antagonism, competition and hyperparasitism of antagonistic microbes in plant pathogens and the exploitation, mechanisms of fungistasis of soil, acquired plant resistance, etc., and the utilization and the related progress in molecular biology and biotechnology. Other areas including researches on insect pheromones, insect growth regulators and botanical pesticides and their utilization, the exploitation of transgenic plant and the safety assessment, etc., are also covered in the journal.
