侯茂林，男，1968年1月出生，湖南安仁人，水稻害虫生态学与综合治理专家。现任中国农业科学院植物保护研究所研究员、博士生导师、水稻害虫创新任务负责人。

1989年获湖南农学院植物保护专业学士学位，1994年获中国科学院沈阳应用生态研究所生态学专业硕士学位，1998年获中国科学院动物研究所生态学专业博士学位。1998年至今，在中国农业科学院从事农业昆虫与害虫防治科研工作，期间2001年-2003年在日本筑波大学从事博士后研究，2011年晋升研究员。  

先后主持国家重点研发计划项目、国家自然科学基金项目、国家重点基础研究发展计划课题、欧盟农业研究发展全球计划-食物安全主题计划国际合作项目、亚洲区域合作专项资金项目、中央科研院所社会公益研究专项项目、国家科技基础条件平台建设专项课题等项目/课题10余项，参加国家重点研发计划、国家自然科学基金、国家重点基础研究计划、国家科技支撑计划、农业行业科研专项、国家科技基础条件平台建设专项等国家科技计划项目20多项。在二化螟抗寒性、褐飞虱气候变化适应性、硅介导的水稻抗虫性、白背飞虱对SRBSDV的传毒行为、以赤眼蜂为主的水稻害虫综合治理等方面取得重要研究进展；与东南亚国家开展长期国际合作，促进我国作物病虫害监测防控技术“走出去”。获授权发明专利5项、实用新型专利2项；发表论文190余篇，其中第一或通讯作者发表SCI论文70余篇；主编专著1部，参编专著6部；获中华农业科技奖优秀创新团队奖1项（排名11）、广西农业科学院科技进步奖1项（排名5）。担任Biocontrol、Agronomy的期刊编委，担任Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry、Pest Management Science、Journal of Pest Science、Entomologia Generalis、Environmental Entomology、Rice Science、Entomologia Experimentalis et Applicata、昆虫学报、植物保护、中国生物防治学报等国内外期刊的审稿专家。
