院士简介:
吴孔明,男,1964年7月18日生于河南省固始县。农业昆虫学家。1984年本科毕业于河南农业大学植物保护系,1987年获浙江农业大学农学硕士学位,1994年获中国农业科学院研究生院农学博士学位。曾任中国农业科学院植物保护研究所所长和植物病虫害生物学国家重点实验室主任、中国植保学会理事长和《植物保护》主编等职。现任农业农村部党组成员、中国农业科学院院长、研究员。2011年当选中国工程院院士。
长期从事农业害虫监测预警与防治技术、转基因植物的生态安全与风险管理技术研究工作。先后承担科技部和农业部多项重大科研项目,并得到国家自然科学基金委员会“创新群体科学基金”的资助。对棉铃虫等重大农业害虫监测预警与控制技术的研究成果,为我国棉花等作物生产的发展提供了科技支撑。获国家科技进步奖二等奖2项、三等奖1项,两项研究成果分别入选2008年“中国十大科技进展新闻”和2012年度“中国科学十大进展”。在Science、Nature等国际SCI源刊物发表研究论文200余篇。获政府特殊津贴、农业部有突出贡献中青年专家、中国青年科技奖、全国优秀科技工作者、何梁何利科学与技术进步奖、中华农业英才奖、中华农业科技奖优秀创新团队等荣誉或人才称号。
Kongming WU
President of Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, and Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering.
Dr. Wu’s research focuses on biology and management strategies of crop insect pests, including migratory biology, integrated pest management (IPM) strategy of cotton insect pests, impacts of Bt transgenic cotton on evolution of pest status in agricultural ecosystem, and insect resistance management (IRM) strategy of cotton bollworm / pink bollworm to Bt cotton. These IPM/IRM strategies, in applying the principle of agro-ecology and moving towards the concept of a sustainable agriculture, have been widely used for insect pest management in Chinese agricultural system, which play very important roles in reducing the utilization of insecticides and improving economic output of cotton in China.
He has been the Principal Investigator of twenty major research projects sponsored by China Ministry of Science and Technology, China Ministry of Agriculture, and the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He received three awards at the national level for his contribution to agricultural science. He has published more than 200 academic articles in scientific journals including Science, Nature,Nature Biotechnology, PNAS and Annual Review of Entomology etc. In pursuing scientific research, Dr. Wu has mentored and nurtured more than twenty doctoral students, fifteen master students and ten postdoctoral fellows. In 1998, The State Council recognized his contribution by awarding him life-time special stipend. In 1999, The Ministry of Agriculture honored Dr. Wu as an Outstanding Young Scholar. He received the Science & Technology Award for Chinese Youth in 2006. He also won a grant for National Outstanding Youth Scientist from National Natural Science Foundation in 2006. In 2010, he was honored as the National Outstanding Science and Technology Scientist by China Society and Technology Association.
