2018年6月11日，英国兰卡斯特大学环境中心Kenneth Wilson教授、Amy Withers博士，Robert Holdbrook博士、英国自然环境研究委员会生态与水文中心的Matthew S. Heard教授和英国洛桑研究所的Gia Aradottir博士一行在中国农业科学院烟草研究所徐蓬军副研究员的陪同下到我所进行学术交流访问。邱德文副所长会见Kenneth Wilson一行并对到访表示热烈欢迎，邱德文副所长简要介绍了我所的科学研究、人才培养和国际交流与合作等基本情况，并表达希望双方科学家加强合作的意愿。国际合作与研究生管理处陈巨莲处长和高利副处长主持了座谈和学术交流会。

学术交流中，Kenneth Wilson教授、Matthew S. Heard教授和Gia Aradottir博士分别作了题为“Harnessing microbes for the biocontrol of insect crop pests”、“Achieving sustainable agricultural systems”和“Designing future wheat: searching for resistance traits to insect pests in wheat and its wild relatives”的学术报告；我所陈巨莲研究员、张泽华研究员、马春森研究员和江幸福研究员先后分别作了题为“Enhancement of natural control function to aphids by intercropping and infochemical releasers in wheat ecosystem”、“Locust and grasshoppers management in China”、“Resolving the population dynamics of pests under extreme climate events”和“Migratory immunity: density-dependent prophylaxis, immune response and host flight manipulation in Mythimna separata”的学术报告。报告后中英双方科学家进行了交流讨论并在害虫防治领域达成了初步合作意向。

全所80名左右科研人员、研究生参加了交流座谈。
